Iggy Pop listens to Caribbean music while doing tai chi under the palms in his garden in Miami. The final end of the Stooges the death of David Bowie have made him think for the first time about finally retiring from the music world, but he wants to go out with a bang. He thinks of Josh Homme, the creator of stoner rock and front man of the band Queens of the Stone Age for twenty years, as his partner to bring down the curtain. American Valhalla is a portrait of the birth of a friendship, the memory of a person who changed other people's lives, the story of two men looking for themselves through music, and above all a diary of the recording of the album Post Pop Depression at the Joshua Tree desert ranch.
