IF I THINK OF GERMANY AT NIGHT, ROMUALD KARMAKAR, ALEMANIA (2017)
DOCK OF THE BAY 2018 BEST MUSIC DOCUMENTARY
The Donostia/San Sebastián Music Documentary Film Festival has awarded the Dock of the Bay 2018 prize for best music documentary to ‘If I Think of Germany at Night’, by the Berlin-based director Romuald Karmakar, for finding an audiovisual language that is coherent with the universe he portrays. An audacious project that calls for the viewer to take an active position on the narrative.

SADE 2018 AWARD
The SADE Award goes to ‘La Chana’, a documentary directed by Lucija Stojevic, for its vibrant portrayal of the humanity of a sadly forgotten figure of Flamenco music, and for reflecting the courage of a woman who was prevented from developing her art and her life to the full by social limitations.

ATRAPADOS POR LA SERPIENTE, ÁLVARO FIERRO & IBON IBARLUCEA, ESPAÑA (2017)
2018 GIPUZKOA PROVINCIAL AUTHORITY PRIZE
The Gipuzkoa Provincial Authority Prize went to ‘Atrapados por la serpiente’ ('Trapped by the Snake'), directed by Álvaro Fierro and Ibon Ibarlucea, for its multi-faceted portrait of an artist and a band who, starting out from Eibar, blazed a difficult trail ahead of their time. A trail that was not understood at the time, but which ended up laying the basis for the musical revolution that was to mark the last years of the 20th century.
