The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye traces the story of artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and his wife and artistic partner, Lady Jaye, who for love decided to merge into one entity. A major artist of the New York avant-garde of the last 30 years, considered́ as one of the fathers of industrial music (Coum Transmission, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV). Genesis has challenged the boundaries of art and biology. In 2000, Genesis began a series of operations to resemble Lady Jaye, a risky, ambitious and subversive performance. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye chronicles this ultimate act of love and devotion.

Marie Losier (b.France,1976), is a filmmaker and curator who’s worked in New York City for 20 years and has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. She has made a number of film portraits on avant-garde directors, musicians and composers, such as the Kuchar brothers, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega, Peter Hristoff and Felix Kubin. Whimsical, poetic, dreamlike and unconventional, her films explore the life and work of these artists. Losier's first feature film was a portrait of pioneering musician and artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and his partner Lady Jaye. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2011, winning various awards and going through numerous festivals. Losier recently had a retrospective of his career at MoMA NY and all of his films were acquired for the museum archives in November 2018. After finishing his new feature film on the German composer and musician Felix Kubin (Felix Kubin, Atomium Vertigo) he continues to make exhibitions and works related to the audiovisual, plastic arts and photography fields.
