Still Hungry is a short documentary that explores the skate scene in Gijón, Asturias. An experimental portrait that narrates the essence of skateboarding in the city and recalls stories from the 80s and 90s. Shot at VX over a period of 8 months, this piece is a collage that stands out for its street aesthetics and poetic editing. The short film focuses on the moments of engorile and collegiality of a group of local skaters, narrating their skate stories through a series of chats and conversations. Through these stories we discover details about the motivations and concerns of the protagonists, inspiring and encouraging new generations to pick up a skateboard and take to the streets.

Elmer Guevara is a 26-year-old filmmaker from El Salvador. He has lived in Gijón since he was 12 years old, where he fell in love with skateboarding and began his adventure behind the cameras. His aesthetic is characterized by a strong street influence from subcultures such as graffiti, tattoo and skateboarding, resulting in experimental films that reflect a DIY attitude. Captivated by narratives charged with intensity and inspired by directors such as Gaspar Noe, Elmer pursues to create in his films images full of expression that excite the audience. Elmer began his career in filmmaking as a self-taught filmmaker and by testing different cameras and experimenting with his filming technique, he has developed a unique and personal creative process.
