En presencia de Battiato

By Eduardo Laporte. Presented by Eduardo Guillot.

The Battiato way was considered as an alternative title for this urgent biography. After the death of the author of E ti vengo a cercare, a documentary void was discovered in a Spanish-speaking world doubly orphaned by the most eclectic and powerful musician. Because his successful songs of cultured breath seduced diverse audiences who sensed a valuable message that was not always easy to unravel. In the absence of recent biographies of Battiato, Eduardo Laporte set himself to the task on the very day of the Sicilian singer's death, perhaps spurred on by some superior voice. The result is a text that delves into the spiritual roots of "a mystic with the vocation of a musician", as the author of the prologue points out. An atypical biography, as Battiato himself was, that delves into the particular success of a multifaceted artist who never stopped searching for the dawn in the shadows. A text that draws from the main sources that have portrayed the different facets of the Italian creator, emphasizing his particular path or Fourth Way: that of the conquest of daily happiness and of one's own vocation.
