A film director, Gonzalo García Pelayo, returns to Sevilla to shoot a film about his city. In 1978 he had already shot a feature film, “Vivir en Sevilla”. “Nueve Sevillas” would be that film’s son, his bastard grandson. Nine characters define with their lives the spatial and temporal limits of the city and also of the flamenco culture with which it is linked. With the presence of the new generation of artists, from Israel Galván to Rosalía through Niño de Elche, Rocío Molina or Tomás de Perrate, the city and the flamenco artists share affection, conversations and gestures. Through nine walks they teach each other. Nueve Sevillas is at the same time a film about flamenco and about Seville.

At the time of facing this particular project and the unknown of whether they will have their nine characters throughout the footage, he declares: “ I always define luck as the deviation of expectation”.
